Gaig, based in the ultra modern Barcelona design hotel, Hotel Cram, is a Michelin star winning restaurant serving the best in modern Catalan cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is sleek, modern and luxurious and is decked out in rich colours including reds, blacks and metallics with dimmed lighting making it ideal for an intimate meal. Based on two levels, the lower floor houses the bar, where you can enjoy an aperitif or cocktail before your meal, and the upper floor is the main restaurant. The Gaig family has been in this business for years and owner Carles Gaig is one of Spain’s top chefs. Among some amazing choices on the Gaig menu are the highly popular rice with partridge and wild mushrooms served with oysters and a champagne cream, grilled turbot with potatoes and baby onions or roast suckling pig. Leave some room for dessert as they are truly delectable – try the “crema de sant joseph” which is a warm flan with wild strawberries. The restaurant is in a great location right in the city centre and is considered one of the great culinary showcases of Barcelona.
